“Water Quality”
Water quality is a key focus area for Upper South Long lake. The Water Committee focuses on planning, managing and making improvements to our water resources. They collect water samples at specified spots in the lake for pollution analysis and take periodic readings, using a Secchi Disk to determine water clarity as it changes during the summer months.

To help maintain clean water:
•Keep up a 25 foot buffer strip between the lake and your cabin or home.
•Remove the weeds, leafs and other debris that wash-up on your shore.
•If you have a fire by the lake, control the ashes so they are not going into the lake.
